The Conference is Nov. 6-8th in Baltimore, and early registration deadline has now passed (Oct. 17). The registration cost is now $105, up from $80. For more general conference information, and to sign-up, visit www.we08.org. There are a lot of good workshops, and the career fair is huge. It will be a lot of fun and it’s a great way to get to know SWE-UH members, as well as network with SWE nationally. I went last year and I enjoyed it a lot. If you decide to come, we have a lot of benefits for our members. Specifically, here are the details related to conference funding, flights, etc:
- Celebrate SWE! As a section, all members need to attend this event. SWE-UH will be funding the meal for everyone ($28).
- Funding is available for you, depending on the amount of SWE points you have. You can keep track of your SWE points on Blackboard, and if you don't have access to the course, let me know.
Here is a table of what funding your points will get you:
| SWE Points

Flight: we will be ordering soon. You will need to pay SWE for the flight, and we will reserve it for you. If you are unsure of if when exactly you can leave (b/c of tests or something), you can reserve it yourself closer to the date. If you qualify to be reimbursed, SWE will reimburse up to $350 dollars for your flight.
Flight details:
- depart Houston 5:30pm Thurs. 11/6 from Hobby, and
- depart Baltimore on Sun. 11/9 at 12:30pm.
- If you are unable to do this, then you may need to reserve your own ticket that best fits your schedule.
